Media Release - November 27, 2025
On November 26, 2025, Port Hope Police responded to a shoplifting incident at a local pharmacy. Officers located the suspect vehicle on Highway 401 and conducted a traffic stop.
Two adult males were arrested. One was charged with Theft Under $5,000 and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and was held for a bail hearing due to existing court conditions. The second male was charged with Theft Under $5,000 and released on conditions.
The investigation remains ongoing.

Break, Enter and Mischief
A report of a break and enter in progress at an Ontario Street residence Port Hope, Ontario led to the arrest of George Procee, born in 1983 from Toronto ON. Port Hope officers received the complaint after the residents heard banging, and glass smashing to their basement window. Officers were given a description of the male party, and at around 1:10 am on Decemeber 24, 2020, Procee was arrested running northbound on Elgin Street, Port Hope Ontario. Procee was charged with break and enter as well as mischief. Procee was released on an adult undertaking for court in early 2021.
Police want to remind the community with coronavirus cases on the rise please do your part by staying home and following the guidelines suggested even prior to the lock down on December 26, 2020. We have to help flatten the curve.
