Media Release - November 27, 2025

On November 26, 2025, Port Hope Police responded to a shoplifting incident at a local pharmacy. Officers located the suspect vehicle on Highway 401 and conducted a traffic stop.

Two adult males were arrested. One was charged with Theft Under $5,000 and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and was held for a bail hearing due to existing court conditions. The second male was charged with Theft Under $5,000 and released on conditions.

The investigation remains ongoing.

Impaired Operation

After leaving a local establishment and being told not to drive his vehicle James MCATEER age 70 was arrested for Impaired Operation at 10:06 pm on July 23, 2019. MCATEER was released on a Promise to Appear and will appear in court on August 7th, 2019.

 

Port Hope Police want to remind the public if you drink and drive or do drugs and drive, make alternate arrangements to get home safe.
