Media Release - November 27, 2025
On November 26, 2025, Port Hope Police responded to a shoplifting incident at a local pharmacy. Officers located the suspect vehicle on Highway 401 and conducted a traffic stop.
Two adult males were arrested. One was charged with Theft Under $5,000 and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and was held for a bail hearing due to existing court conditions. The second male was charged with Theft Under $5,000 and released on conditions.
The investigation remains ongoing.

Domestic Assault
A young male was arrested and charged with assaulting his girlfriend on December 19, 2020. The accused was drinking when the altercation took place. The victim wanted to leave as they two had been arguing, however the male did not want his girlfriend to leave and pushed her to the ground several times. The accused then became violent toward one of the adults in the residence. The accused was charged with domestic assault. No charges were laid for the assault on the adult. The accused will appear in youth court in early 2021.
Port Hope Police want to remind the community with coronavirus cases on the rise please do your part by staying home and following the guidelines suggested even prior to the lock down on December 26, 2020. We have to help flatten the curve.
