Media Release - November 27, 2025
On November 26, 2025, Port Hope Police responded to a shoplifting incident at a local pharmacy. Officers located the suspect vehicle on Highway 401 and conducted a traffic stop.
Two adult males were arrested. One was charged with Theft Under $5,000 and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and was held for a bail hearing due to existing court conditions. The second male was charged with Theft Under $5,000 and released on conditions.
The investigation remains ongoing.

Intimate Partner Violence
A Port Hope man has been arrested and charged with Spousal Assault after an incident that took place on January 14, 2024. Police were called to an address in Port Hope by the victim who stated she had been punched in the face by her boyfriend during an argument. When police arrived, the victim had visible signs of assault. As a result, the male was arrested and charged. He was released on an undertaking and will appear in court on a later date.
Intimate Partner - Criminal Harassment
The accused, a 56-year-old Port Hope man, was arrested for repeatedly communicating with his ex-partner. The accused dated the victim in 2020 and in December 2023, began repeatedly calling the victim, the accused then attended on her property to speak to her. After being cautioned, the male again repeatedly called the victim. As a result, the accused was arrested for Criminal Harassment. The accused was held for a bail hearing. He was later released on a court order with strict conditions.
