Media Release - November 27, 2025
On November 26, 2025, Port Hope Police responded to a shoplifting incident at a local pharmacy. Officers located the suspect vehicle on Highway 401 and conducted a traffic stop.
Two adult males were arrested. One was charged with Theft Under $5,000 and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and was held for a bail hearing due to existing court conditions. The second male was charged with Theft Under $5,000 and released on conditions.
The investigation remains ongoing.

With the current sightings of Black Bear continuing to be reported, Port Hope Police and the MNFR are requesting citizens in Urban Port Hope who have bird feeders on their property to temporarily remove them as this has noted to be a popular attractant for the black bear.
