Media Release - November 27, 2025
On November 26, 2025, Port Hope Police responded to a shoplifting incident at a local pharmacy. Officers located the suspect vehicle on Highway 401 and conducted a traffic stop.
Two adult males were arrested. One was charged with Theft Under $5,000 and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and was held for a bail hearing due to existing court conditions. The second male was charged with Theft Under $5,000 and released on conditions.
The investigation remains ongoing.

In an effort to reduce the risk of the Covid 19 virus from spreading the station lobby at 55 Fox Road will now be closed until further notice. Port Hope Police officers will continue to respond to calls for service as will other emergency services operating in Port Hope. If you need Police assistance please dial 905-885-8123 and then when prompt select 3 and you will be transferred to a Police Call taker. For emergency calls dial 9-1-1
Screening Services
In Person Background checks will not be taken at the Port Hope Police Station at 55 Fox Road Port Hope until further notice. Background Check Forms are available on line. Visit www.phps.on.ca and click on Services and then Background Checks to submit your form. Background Checks results will be mailed to recipients.
