Drug Charges

A male from Cavan Township was charged after Police conduced a routine traffic stop on Friday February 4th, 2022.  Police learned the driver of the vehicle was wanted on an outstanding warrant from Quebec. Upon further investigation, Port Hope Police located a white rock substance inside an unmarked pill bottle in the vehicle. The male was arrested and charged with possession of a schedule I substance-Cocaine. The accused will appear in court March 16, 2022.

 

Impaired Driver

On February 5th, 2022, at 1:20am, while on general patrol, police located a male sitting in his vehicle, which was running, in the King Street and Madison Street parking lot. The male driver admitted to consuming alcohol, and when asked to step out of his vehicle he showed signs of impairment. The male was arrested and later released on an appearance notice. He will appear in court in late February to answer to the charge of operation while impaired-alcohol and drugs, and operation while impaired-blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).
