Domestic Assault 

On Saturday night August 22, 2021 around 4:45 am Port Hope Police responded to a residence on Crossley Drive, Port Hope, ON for a report of a domestic. Upon arrival police learned the 41 year old male was refusing to allow his partner of four years to leave the residence. The accused had also thrown a suitcase at the victim hitting her in the leg area. As a result the accused was arrested and released on an Undertaking with conditions. The accused will appear in court on September 29, 2021 to answer to the charge of domestic assault. 

Break and Enter

John Haddow age 46 was arrested after Port Hope Police learned Haddow was the person who broke into a local laundromat on Peter Street, Port Hope, ON. The break and enter occurred on August 22, 2021. Once inside Haddow stole a bell modem and some small change. Haddow's picture was put on the Port Hope Police Facebook and the community was a great help identifying Haddow. Thank you to the citizens of Port Hope for your help.

Robbery and Forcible Confinement

John Haddow and Gregory Stafford were charged on August 26, 2021 with forcible confinement and robbery. During the event the victim was able to text out to a neighbour  " Help" . The nieghbour then called 911 advising officers of the text received. Police attended the victim's residence and located Haddow and Stafford still inside the victim's residence.. Haddow and Stafford were on conditions not be associate directly or indirectly with one another from a previous Cobourg Police matter. Haddow and Stafford were charged with robbery, forcible confinement, and failing to comply with an officer in charge undertaking. 

 

Theft

An unknown male broke into vehicles overnight August 26-27, 2021., at the Trinity School Property area. If you recognize this male please email phps@phps.on.ca or call Acting Sergeant Austin at 905-885-8123 extension 39.
