On February 10, 2024, a 35-year-old Colborne male was arrested and charged with impaired driving after police were dispatched to a parked vehicle in a gas station parking lot with an unconscious male inside.
When officers arrived, they observed the vehicle and attempted to wake the driver. The vehicle had damage to the passenger front side and appeared to have hit the fence to which it was next. The male came to, exited the vehicle, and showed obvious signs of impairment. The male was arrested and charged with the following:

Port Hope Police urges the public to remain vigilant against distraction thefts, a prevalent tactic used by criminals to steal wallets and valuables from unsuspecting individuals.
Distraction thefts typically occur when a perpetrator deliberately diverts the attention of the victim, often in crowded public places such as shopping centers or markets. The thief may work alone or with accomplices, engaging the victim in conversation or creating a disturbance while another steals from their purse or pockets.
