Mischief to Vehicle

A central Port Hope man reported damage to his vehicle September 7th 2020. His vehicle was parked on the street where he lives and he noted scratches to the paint on his white S.U.V on the left and right side of the vehicle. The scratches looked intentional. Police report no suspects at this time.

Man arrested on warrant.

A 33 year old former Cornwall man was arrested after Port Hope Police commenced an investigation in to a suspicious person incident. On the 8th of September the man was noted to be acting suspicious and lingering around the Jocelyn Street/Toronto Road area. He was then observed running along the shoulder of the 401 east of Toronto Road. He was investigated by officer whereby a warrant for Robbery entered by Cornwall Police Service was discovered. He was taken into custody and then as requested by the Cornwall Police was released on an undertaking with conditions and a court date later in October.   

Shoplifting suspect arrested.

A 24 year old Port Hope man was arrested on the 8th of September after Port Hope Police received a complaint about a theft from a convenience store in the Municipality’s east end. The man is alleged to have taken consumable goods and left the store without paying shortly after 11:00am. Police viewed CCTV images and were able to identify the man. He was later arrested and released with a court date in October 2020.  Jordan Cross is charged with Theft under $5000.00 and breach of probation.

Break and enter.

Shortly before 10:00pm on the 8th of September Port Hope Police and Fire Services responded to a fire alarm at the decommissioned St Mary’s School on Pine Street. When officer’s arrived on scene they located a smashed window on the second floor and the fact the building had been entered. Fire extinguishers were dispensed around the old school which set off the fire alarm. The school was searched with no suspects located.
