Port Hope Police indicate that most everyone was complaint in not accessing the River for opening fishing between Molson Street and Lake Ontario. Council approved a temporary by-law restricting access to the river for opening fishing. This was required as a result of the current pandemic and provincial state of emergency. These temporary restrictions are in place until the second week of May when it will be reviewed in line with Health Care professionals and the Ontario Government on when to modify or lift them. During the weekend there were only four by-law infractions issued by Police. Port Hope Police would like to thank citizens and visitors for their continued co-operation during this pandemic.
