Media Release - November 27, 2025
On November 26, 2025, Port Hope Police responded to a shoplifting incident at a local pharmacy. Officers located the suspect vehicle on Highway 401 and conducted a traffic stop.
Two adult males were arrested. One was charged with Theft Under $5,000 and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and was held for a bail hearing due to existing court conditions. The second male was charged with Theft Under $5,000 and released on conditions.
The investigation remains ongoing.

Officers have identified a suspect, and have grounds for the below charges. Investigation ongoing. Media release will be updated once the suspect is in custody or warrant is sought.
Aggravated Assault Charges Laid
Port Hope Police have charged a 28-year-old Ajax man following an assault that was reported after the fact. The incident occurred at a gathering in Port Hope on September 13, 2025. Police were contacted on September 17, 2025.
The victim sustained a serious neck injury after being assaulted with a knife and required hospital treatment.
The accused has been charged with:

Assault with a Weapon

Aggravated Assault

Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
