Assault

Port Hope Police are looking for the public’s assistance in identifying persons involved in fight where a weapon was brandished. On the 23rd of December Police were called to the area of Seymour and Bedford St after a citizen reported a fight where the person fled in a white compact vehicle.  Police tracked down the person who was involved in the fight who reported that the unknown male approached him as he was waiting for a friend on Bruton St and began fighting with him. The male then brandished what the victim thought was a pistol and took off running. The victim’s friends arrived and they chased the male to the Seymour/Bedford area where another confrontation took place. The male again brandished the pistol and fled in the white compact vehicle.  Police are looking for a newer, Ford Focus White Hatchback with a Black Spoiler on hatch, black rims. Man facing charges.

A 24 year old Stouffville man is facing weapons charges after Port Hope Police responded to a complaint of a man passed out in vehicle. On Christmas Eve at 2:42am Police were called to the Elgin Street/Ward Street area where they located a man sleeping in vehicle that was running.  The man was awakened by Police Officers who commenced an investigation into the man’s state of sobriety. During the investigation Police took the man into custody and subsequently located a set of brass knuckles. Also located was suspected Crystal Methamphetamine. Micky Ruttenburg is charged with possession of a prohibited weapon and possession of a controlled substance along with liquor and Highway Traffic Act Charges.   He appears in court in February 2018.
