Domestic Dispute

On Tuesday the 23rd of January 2018 in the evening hours the Port Hope Police were dispatched to a residence in the Walton Street area in order to investigate a domestic dispute involving a male and female.  During the course of the investigation it was determined that there were reasonable grounds for the offence of assault.  As a result the female occupant of the residence was charged with assault. 

Traffic Enforcement

On Wednesday January 24th 2018 in the afternoon hours, the Port Hope Police initiated a traffic stop on Walton Street.  During the course of this traffic stop it had become apparent that the driver of the vehicle was suspended, had failed to have insurance, had been utilizing two different license plates, and was operating a vehicle that was not fit for the highway.

Charged with Drive Under Suspension X 2, Drive motor vehicle no insurance, Use plate unauthorized,  and operate unsafe vehicle is Donald Bates (61) of Colborne. 

Transportation Fraud

On Sunday January 28th 2018 in the early morning hours, the Port Hope Police were dispatched to Metro on Peter Street in order to investigate a taxi cab fare dispute.  Investigation determined that the occupant of the cab had been transported from the Cobourg area and had refused to pay the majority of his fare. 

As a result he was charged with Transportation Fraud under the Criminal Code

Charged is Lexter Mendez of Port Hope
