Media Release - November 27, 2025
On November 26, 2025, Port Hope Police responded to a shoplifting incident at a local pharmacy. Officers located the suspect vehicle on Highway 401 and conducted a traffic stop.
Two adult males were arrested. One was charged with Theft Under $5,000 and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and was held for a bail hearing due to existing court conditions. The second male was charged with Theft Under $5,000 and released on conditions.
The investigation remains ongoing.

Deceased Person Found
A 44-year-old male was found unresponsive in a wooded area near Gages Creek on the evening of June 5, 2024. A joint investigation between Port Hope Police and Northumberland OPP is under way. There is no threat to public safety at this time.
Weapons
A 37-year old Port Hope female is facing weapons charges after she was approached by police regarding a prior outstanding theft charge.
On June 3, 2024, police observed the female in the area of Walton and Mill Street and was known to police to be arrestable for a prior shoplifting incident. As officers were searching her property, they came across a taser/stun gun and an army style tactical vest.
The female was placed under arrest for the outstanding shoplifting charge and was also charged with the following:
- Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
- Unauthorized Possession of Weapon
The female was released on an undertaking with conditions and will appear in court on June 26, 2024, to answer to her charges.
