Media Release - November 27, 2025
On November 26, 2025, Port Hope Police responded to a shoplifting incident at a local pharmacy. Officers located the suspect vehicle on Highway 401 and conducted a traffic stop.
Two adult males were arrested. One was charged with Theft Under $5,000 and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and was held for a bail hearing due to existing court conditions. The second male was charged with Theft Under $5,000 and released on conditions.
The investigation remains ongoing.
Assault
A 46 year old male was arrested for assaulting his father multiple times in the face and head area on October 22, 2020 around 7:00 pm. The fight was over a debt owed. At 9:00 pm the accused was released on an Undertaking with conditions to remain away from his father. The accused will appear in court on December 10, 2020 to answer to the charge. The names are not being released to protect the identity of the victim.
