Woman arrested on warrant.

A 32 year old Peterborough woman was arrested in Peterborough on an outstanding Port Hope Police warrant. On the 5th of December 2019 the woman had contact with Peterborough Officers when the outstanding warrant was revealed. She was arrested by the officers and returned to their station. Officers from Port Hope executed the warrant which was for failing to appear in court on another criminal allegation.  She was charged with failing to appear and later released after a bail hearing held on the 6th of December. Shannon Rae Price is charged.

Break, enter and mischief

Port Hope Police and Fire were called to the High school on the 06th of December shortly after 10:00pm after a report of smoke in the hallway. Upon arrival it was determined the smoke was dust after someone who entered the school emptied some fire extinguishers. Anyone with information is asked to call Port Hope Police or email phps@phps.on.ca.   

Man charged with Assault

A 25 year old Port Hope man is facing charges of assault and mischief after Port Hope Police officers responded to a domestic dispute in the early morning of December 8th.  Police arrived on scene at the residence in the Municipality’s west end and located two individuals in the driveway. An investigation was commenced whereby officers received information regarding an assault that occurred earlier at the same location. Police allege the man assaulted his girlfriend during an argument and further damaged someone of her personal property. He was subsequently arrested for the allegation. He was later released with a court date and conditions. Police will not identify the man to protect the identity of the victim. There was no apparent injury to the victim as a result of the assault.

Man charged during R.I.D.E

On the 9th of December 2019 Port Hope Police officers were conducting a R.I.D.E program. Shortly after 2:30am a vehicle came through the Program. In formation was received that the man’s driving privileges was suspended. The man was subsequently arrested for the offence.  Further investigation revealed the man was in possession of cannabis in contravention of the Federal Cannabis Act. 49 year old George COOKE is facing charges of possession over 30 grams, possession of cannabis for the purpose of selling. He is further charged with driving with cannabis readily available to driver and driving under suspension. He appears in court in February.
