Media Release 21 Dec 2018 Woman charged with drug trafficking

                                               

Drug charges laid

A 35 year old Port Hope woman is facing drug charges after Port Hope Police Criminal Investigations unit executed a search warrant at a Bruton Street address.  At 3:32am, after a police investigation, officers entered the residence and arrested the woman. Police seized Cocaine, Crack Cocaine, Purple Heroin and Canadian currency. Charged with 2 counts of possession of a schedule 1 substance for the purposes of trafficking, possession of a schedule 1 substance and possession of property obtained by crime is Jessica Rouse. She was released from custody and appears in court later in January.

 

R.I.D.E

Port Hope Police R.I.D.E programs are continuing through the Month of December. Over 2000 vehicles have been checked with no impaired charges being laid. Port Hope Police remind residents to utilize alternate transportation methods when attending Christmas parties or gatherings.

Operation Red Nose is up and running in Northumberland. The program, sponsored by the YMCA, is a national program dedicated to the fight against drinking and driving. It is a free, confidential, volunteer-driver service offered to any individual who has been drinking or who simply do not feel fit to drive his/her vehicle home. Remain dates they are operational are December 21 & 22 December 31(New Year’s Eve). People are encouraged to call Operation Red Nose Northumberland at (905) 377- 1218 during the evenings and hours of operation for a safe, reliable and free ride home.
