Media Release Port Hope Police Service

 

Break and Enter, Arson, and Mischief:

Over the weekend, Port Hope Police responded to eight mischief complaints in the downtown core, two break and enters and two arsons. A picture of the suspect was posted on social media, and as a result police received some greats tips from the public. The accused Jordan Bradshaw of Cobourg Ontario, turned himself into the Port Hope Police Service and was arrested and charged with Mischief x8, Break and Enter x2, and Arson x2. Bradshaw is being held for Bail. 

The Port Hope Police Service would like to thank the public for all of the tips. 

Operation While Impaired:

On December 18, 2021, at 11:40am, while on general patrol, Port Hope Police observed a pickup truck driving erratically southbound on Ontario Street, in Port Hope. The officer conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle, through investigation determined the male driver to be impaired. He was arrested and tested by a Drug Recognition Expert. As a result, 59-year-old Frank Reyns was charged with Operation while Impaired - Alcohol and Drugs and was released on an Undertaking to appear in court in January 2022 to answer to the charge. 

Port Hope Police want to remind the community as the holiday season approaches to plan ahead. Arrange for a safe ride home.  Don’t Drive Impaired. 

Stolen Vehicle:

On December 19, 2021, around 2:00am, Police responded to a stolen vehicle call from Charles Street, Port Hope. Police were advised by the vehicle owner that a male had been observed getting into the vehicle and went westbound on Charles Street. The vehicle was located a short distance away. Cobourg Police assisted with the search as well as Durham Regional Police k-9 unit, with negative results for the suspect.
