MEDIA RELEASE

Darren Strongman Named Deputy Chief of the Port Hope Police

(January 4, 2018) The Port Hope Police Services Board (Board) is pleased to announce the appointment of Darren Strongman as Deputy Chief of the Port Hope Police Service (PHPS).

Effective immediately, Deputy Chief Strongman will take on the position which has been vacant since September 2014.

Port Hope Police Services Board Chair Jeff Gilmer stated, "Deputy Chief Strongman has fulfilled his duties as Inspector since April 2015. He is familiar with the needs of our community and has been an excellent member of the PHPS management team. He has earned his promotion to Deputy Chief and the Board looks forward to working with him in his new role."

Chief Wood of the PHPS is pleased with the Board’s decision, "Deputy Chief Strongman has continuously demonstrated his commitment to serving his community. This promotion is reflective of his hard work and the significant skills and abilities he brings to the PHPS."
